Our Jams

Bloc Party
Kings of Leon
Tokyo Police Club

Friendly Fires
Avett Brothers
Jake and I have been working on the music for the wedding for what seems like forever! We originally thought we'd just plug in our ipod and let it run but the holes in that plan began to become increasingly clear. So we hired a dj...but we still determined a list of quite a few songs we wanted played...above is a small sampling.

For Practice Only

I went shopping last night and unintentionally found a dress at forever 21 for the rehearsal/ rehearsal dinner. It was the only one left and was perfect! So cute, can't wait to wear it...but now Jake's worried he has to get real dressed up.

IO

If you find yourself with a free moment you should definitely check out my friend Tony's blog, Illustrate Omaha. It's a great site about designers and illustrators in the Omaha area and full of interviews and articles. I'm a contributor and will hopefully be posting a lot more after the wedding!

diy photo booth

Love love love this idea!

One per customer

Also real happy about the way the cd's came out. Unfortunately they are going to have to be one per family/couple. Its a collection of some of our favorite love songs....not the most conventional but I love the mix...maybe if we put the song list up it will deter some people? Sorry, no Celine Dion here

Programs are done!

A little taste of the programs we worked so hard on. I Love how they turned out and they look great in the vintage fruit crate we found. But if you want to see the actual programs you're going to have to wait!

One year ago yesterday...

We got engaged! Hard to believe it's been a whole year already...

New love

Jake and I went to the store a couple days ago and picked up some mason jars! So cute and simple. I thought we could reconfigure the centerpieces to include them using flowers and candles.

Broken Record

I know I talk a lot about anthropologie but I think we are going to get our toasting flutes from there. Our objective was to find a set today and we failed! Searched all over town with no luck. And then I hopped on anthro's site and found these

no hearts in sight! I'm going to go investigate tomorrow to make sure they look alright in person.
But while I was on the site I came across these...

they would be so cute as table numbers (not that I'm looking) but would also look great on my kitchen counter...

Fringe

I went and did another makeup trial today and it lead me to believe that I need to make some decisions about hair and makeup in the near future. I think I'm going to rock the bangs but when I decided I noticed how few brides have them, so after scouring the blogosphere I found these gems for your viewing pleasure.

Many Thanks

To everyone that helped with programs last night! It was such a relief to get them done and it was intense! So again, thank you!

Anthro does it again

The bags came in yesterday and I am so psyched! They are wonderful...just wrinkly..very wrinkly. It's just another thing to do at this point, but I have so many wonderful people that have actually asked to help with things and I'm so thankful! I'm actually looking forward to making the programs now.

Speaking of which, I went to anthropologie the other day and signed up for their anthro-project card and was immediately glad I did! The card/packaging thing was awesome and has been my inspiration for the programs. So simple but adorable...and not terribly "wedding-ish."

MUSLIN!

You may or may not recall a previous post of mine all about muslin bags (can be seen here) but I really wanted to get them for the wedding invites. It didn't work out. BUT after doing some detective work I found some reasonably priced ones that are on there way as we speak! So excited! We are going to use them for the programs...they will be awesome!

8mm wedding

Judie and Frank: A Vintage Opening from Artifact Documentaries on Vimeo.

I went to a garage sale about a month ago and found an 8mm camera! I was really excited and wanted to use it for the wedding but now I have to figure it out. After seeing these I feel a little more motivated.
