Current Stresses

So the two big things that causing the biggest headaches are flowers and invitations. I'm a graphic designer so you'd think this would be my absolute favorite thing, right? no! well sort of, I really enjoy making them for other people...not myself. I stress out way to much. I should probably just pick something and run with it.

Bridesmaids

Alright, maybe jumping a little ahead in the planning process but since we just went out and bought them, I wanted to post about the bridesmaid dresses. We went to all sorts of places looking for the dresses only to be disappointed in all the bridal stores...way to much money, not enough style.

Time to think outside the box. we went to anthropologie and it all came together.

It has been incredibly fun and challenging to come up with colors and feel for the wedding. I've flip flopped a bunch of times but now I'm pretty confident in the slate blue have chosen. *see last inspiration board*

let the plans begin...

So one of the first hurtles we ran into was where to have the ceremony. Jake and I aren't religious so it was not appropriate to have it in a church...making things a little more difficult to find a place to have it. After a lot of searching we found a place.

The Proposal

So it's kind of common knowledge that it is my dream to live in Portland, OR. We had been to visit back in 2007 and I fell in love with the city. When we came back to visit in 2008, I was in love in a completely different way.

On our first day we went walking everywhere! we went to an art museum, down to the Willamette river bank and to a restaurant that floated on the river. Little did I know that Jake was trying to propose at each place. Until we got to a highway overpass, when he pulled a ring out of his pocket and it was over!

This is Us

Our names are Cate and Jake and we are getting married!

We met in High School, Cate a sophomore and Jake a senior, and have been dating ever since. This is the story of our road to wedded bliss.
