Busy Day

Yesterday I met with the DJ at the place, ordered envelopes and started making bellybands and rsvps for the invites. Today the boys are supposed to go and pick up their outfits and I'm supposed to go pick up the invitations from the post office.


Decided to go with the blue A7 envelopes for the outside and the brown A2 envelopes for the inside...though I probably should have ordered them earlier.

The other night Jake and I went to this GREAT show at the Waiting Room. This band, Cloud Cult, actually has two painters in the band, that paint during the whole show...amazing. Not to mention the music was fantastic.

I'm pretty sure by the wedding I will have carpal tunnel syndrome from all the crafty projects I've got going. Currently have about 50 mustaches done but now I'm going back and attaching tags with the bakers twine I got. (the Martha Stewart kind is super cute, but only at Michael's, and a lot smaller than I expected..but on sale, so I got two packs)

I'd make a list of projects I've got going/ should be doing, but it might make me cry now. They all sounded wonderful and completely doable when I started.

pre-wedding dreams

When I got engaged some people told to me that I would start having terrifying wedding dreams...last night was the night.

In said dream, Jake and I called off the wedding, canceled the date, lost a butt-load of money AND THEN Kelsey and Ruthie collected lizards in their parents backyard and taught them to chase me. Only to be followed by Jake and I deciding to just get married anyways but then I got chased by a horrifying frankenstien/robot hybrid thats only mission to find and destroy me.

I guess the wedding bit was just kind of a context detail but I'm counting it.

Good news from the printer

I spoke with our printer, KeeganMeegan, and they said that our invites should be sent out by June 1st at the latest!!!!

Flower Update!

My maid of honor, Kelsey, came over last night after a long day of work to help me make flowers! I'd don't know if many people really understand what I mean with "paper flowers." they are only going to be on the tables but I think they look 'real-ish'

Favors Update!

I had today off so I worked on a ton of wedding stuff today. I was feeling especially crafty so I ran with it! The idea is tiny mustaches for our guests, something that will be fun, cute and memorable. I'd still like to add something else to the bags, leaning toward gum with personalized wrappers...

Jake and I went shopping around town to find grey vests for the groomsmen (actually a lot harder than anticipated) We did find some at Kohls. Though I liked the ones at Target better.

Honeymoonin'

We've been talking a lot lately about what we are going to be doing for our honeymoon. We really wanted to visit some of the Nordic European countries but we can't exactly afford an extravagant trip though we can spend a little more than we would on a normal vacation. That being said, we are seriously considering going back to Portland ...lame?
We've gone there the past two years but I think we both love it there so it seems wonderful. The plan is to go to Portland or Seattle, spend a few days there, then drive to the other.
Now, we have been to Portland twice but we haven't rented a car to get around the city for more than a couple hours, so we've been relatively limited in our travels. There are so many museums and attractions that we haven't experienced and we would stay in this really awesome hotel, Ace( a place I've wanted to stay at since our first trip.)
Neither of us have been to Seattle but it has been on the list of places to go for quite some time for me (and hopefully Jake's too)

Cardigan?

It's sort of common knowledge that I own more cardigans than any one person should, that being said...I think I might wear a cardigan to the wedding. Not for the ceremony but maybe for the reception...we'll see. These picture of the bright yellow one are wonderful.

Selling the old dress

Selling the old dress on ebay. At this time, I have one bid, which is great! granted, it's the list price and I'd like to have more bids but I'll take it right now. After looking at other Maggie Sottero dresses on the site I feel pretty lucky that I have one. I'm so glad to finally be getting it out of my life! It's a beautiful dress, but just not for me

I think we would both still love to do the tandem bike thing for our pictures this weekend but the deposit is sooo huge that we are really nervous about renting it. but the pictures would be awesome...




granted, these are all wedding day photos, I think it could still work for engagement pics
