He's finally here! Our sweet baby boy was born August 18th. The birth went beautifully and we are so happy!

A Really, Really Long Time

I know a ridiculous amount of time has passed since I posted last! So sorry! These last couple months of pregnancy have been a bit more strenuous than anticipated. I did make the decision to take a break from the Simple Matters work for a while to prepare for the little one but hopefully I'll get things going again here soon. I'm hoping to get some nursery/craft photos up soon, but bear with me!

Big News!!

Some Simple Matters cards will have a new home at The Art Mill soon!! So if you are in a hurry for some fantastic cards and can't wait to have something mailed to you (and are in the Omaha area) drop by and pick some up!

This is a really great place with not only a boutique but studio available to the public. It's really is worth the trip to come check it out! The Art Mill is a great place to find all sorts of funky or handmade things, artwork or just to come to for one of the wonderful programs (I believe there is a date night coming up) or to take advantage of the studio. The Art Mill is located at 156th and Maple and while you are there, grab some Simple Matters cards! Available mid-June. I'm so excited!!

New For Father's Day

Some dads have a very distinguishing feature that I rather love right now...a mustache! Granted, most dads I see aren't rocking a handle bar, it's still to me, iconic. Maybe because my dad has always seemed to have one but it just seems to go with the territory...maybe I should convince my husband to grow one in preparation for the little one?

With all this card hullabaloo it's easy to get super focused on just this and neglect other things in life. Apparently it's spring...almost summer.

Busy day! I worked for almost 12 straight hours today on pressing, packaging and photographing! I am exhausted but I honestly have no idea where all the time went. I'm very happy with the outcome but I know there's still more to do tomorrow. Most of these are not in the shop yet but keep checking over the next few days!

Busy, Busy

Feels great going to bed knowing you got a lot done that day! I've got so many ideas and things to try! I'm ready for it to be the weekend so I can relax/get some work done (without my other job interfering) and for summer vacation to start!

O! And Another Thing

Can't believe I forgot to mention it, but I recently joined the Omaha Craft Mafia! It's a great group of super creative area crafters. We got together last night to do some screen printing and it was so nice to meet everybody! I can't wait to do more with these ladies! Exciting Changes

I'm excited to announce some changes to Simple Matters! The shop will soon be adding printable pieces. Still planning on having plenty of letterpress and ready-made products, but now we'll have some fun low cost options! Keep checking the etsy page over the next couple of weeks!

There should also be some more letterpress cards up soon, plates are due to come in early next week! But I'm thinking it's time for nap...this baby growing thing is exhausting!

My Wedding Inspiration Board

I've gotten such a good response from my invitation suite being on Oh So Beautiful Paper, its gotten me a little sentimental! This time a year ago I was wedding planning full-throttle! I decided to go back through some of the photos and create an inspiration board using photos from my own wedding around our invitation. The colors may be a little all over the place but I'm too lazy to do it that way and I wanted a large sampling of what the day was like.

Day Trip

Last weekend my friend Kelsey and I went to Lincoln, NE as a mini-day trip. Lincoln is such an interesting mix of quirky artsy-ness and big red fueled hysteria. A college city, if you will. We shopped at some super cute boutiques and vintage stores and had a delightful lunch at Bread&Cup. Pictured is Kelsey's lunch, much prettier than mine, though super delicious.

Blushing Inspiration

My first Inspiration board! Well, not really. The first one that I didn't use solely for my own wedding planning benefit. This board was made to highlight the Simple Matters boy/girl invitation. I always thought there was a very specific style to the person that would pick this. I would have used it myself but I had a hard time convincing my husband to go pink!

Pretty Baby

As my pregnancy has progressed, I've made the decision that this blog will not become a "baby blog" or at least not a blog dedicated to babies/children (I know there have been a few posts already). But sometimes you just have to break your own rules for breath-taking styling, like that of British nursery furniture designers, Bambizi. Love looking at baby-related products that adults can love too!
