My Mom and I found shoes for the bridesmaids! We just went a head and ordered them...another thing to cross off the list, plus they should be coming in any day now. They are from payless and were part of the buy one get one deal so not only are they cute, they were cheap! Simple and I love the ruffle.

In an effort to find bouquets that are more budget friendly, I've been doing a lot of research into what flowers are season and what is inexpensive. Some ideas: lavender, getting a bouquet of greenery and sticking silk flowers in (thanks Renae) and one that I have been toying with; bunches of carnations. They can look like peonies when grouped close together.

New Direction

Messed around with the center pieces yesterday and decided that it just wasn't doing it for me as is...all the teacups were looking a little 'grandma-y.' Rather than loosing all the china we'd collected for months I figured we just needed to add some other elements...and then we saw this

Perfect! We added some books and quirky items and it looks great! it's going to take some work to get it looking a little more put together but I like where it's headed!

Just Keep Swimming

Getting a lot of stuff done! Yesterday my mom, sister and I tackled shoes. Mine are ordered and we have a pretty cute idea for the bridesmaids. Went over to see Jake's mom and she helped me address invitations, then I went to the post office to double check the postage. re-made the maps that go with the invitations. Bought some honeymoon plane tickets! Setup a flower making party for tomorrow where we are going to make flowers(surprise!) and try some tasty drink ideas for the wedding. Ordered straws and rings! but now I'm trying to figure out the hair situation and I just can't/ don't want to make a decision. Those these are a few of the front runners. (though I think the bottom is my favorite)

We got one!

Jake and I just purchased a baby blue typewriter off of etsy! So excited! Looks like Mike will have a job after all...

Oh yeah...

We are also on the lookout for a cute typewriter to use as our guestbook...this one would work fine :)

New Obsession

Found this adorable straws while checking out blogs the other day and they sent me me into a frantic hunt to find them! I found a couple places online and I'm waiting to hear back. One place was Jack and LuLu ...they don't have them online but the do have them in stock. I found some of the pictures and info from the haystack needle.

I think my mom put it best when she said the things were starting to 'snowball.' It's Wednesday and so far everyday has been filled with wedding. Monday Kelsey, my sister and I went on the 45min drive to Lincoln to pick up my dress, tried on veils and what not (and made a mini road trip out of it.) Yesterday I was on the phone with people making appointments, frantically looking for shoes for my fitting, worked on stuffing envelopes, went to the bank to figure out some wedding finances and registered with Jake.

On the agenda today- dress fitting and bridal shower meeting. Like I said earlier, I had a frantic shoe finding mission yesterday...the outcome?


both shoes are from the Lela Rose Payless collection. I had stayed away from dyeing shoes because it just seemed corny to me but as things have played out it may not be a bad idea. I have a crafty idea for these bad boys but couldn't find the simple shoes I needed in the color I wanted...thus the dyeable shoes.

also, bridesmaids? any opinions?

Busy Week

So much has been going on this week! planning the bridal showers, putting stuff together, meeting with vendors, making appointments to meet with other vendors...getting crazy! we're about 90 days away which seems like a long time but also starting to realize how quickly it's going.

New love- Sofia mini cans. tastes just like the bottle and the packaging is adorable! I have to find a way to work these into a bridal shower or bachelorette party
